Things to do at night in Dubai

When visiting Dubai, time can fly by as you spend your days relaxing by the beach or shopping at the malls or maybe you only have a few hours in Dubai at night on a stopover flight. Just because you are looking for things to do at times that many cities would be quiet, Dubai is becoming a city that never sleeps.
Dubai is constantly growing, and it seems like every week there’s a new activity or experience to try. This includes a growing list of night activities that allow you to keep your adventure going long after the daylight is gone.
These are our top 10 favourite things to do in Dubai at night.

Go on a Night Desert Safari

Escaping the city for a few hours and going on an adventure in the desert is a great way to experience Dubai in a unique way.
Much of the wildlife in Dubai is nocturnal, so a night desert safari is the best way to see animals that would otherwise be hidden away in their burrows.
Platinum Heritage has an amazing night desert safari that includes a delicious dinner, along with a private astronomy session inside a desert oasis.
If you do decide to try a night desert safari, make sure you bring a jacket or jumper. The desert is often much colder than the city at night.

Dubai Mall

Almost everyone who comes to Dubai visits the Dubai Mall. As the largest mall in the world, it’s pretty hard to miss it.
The Dubai Mall and the area surrounding it is filled with things to do and places to see.
This includes the Dubai Aquarium, an Olympic sized ice rink inside of the mall, and the Dubai Fountain show just outside of the mall.
Most of the things to do in and around the Dubai Mall close at 11pm, but the mall itself stays open until 12am.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

Most hot air balloon rides take place during sunrise, but you take off before it’s daylight so we still consider this a night activity.
Going on a hot air balloon ride above the desert is an experience like no other. You’ll get to see beautiful views of the desert and mountains as you float slowly above the dunes.
Balloon Adventures takes things a step further as the only company in the world that includes an in-flight falcon show.
After the hot air balloon ride, you’re driven to a desert camp in vintage Land Rovers, where you are then served a gourmet breakfast.

Soft Touch Spa at Kempinski hotel

After a long flight to Dubai, you might be in the mood for some pampering. The Soft Touch spa at the Kempinski hotel is the perfect place to get some much-needed rest and relaxation and the best thing is, it’s open 24 hours a day!
With operating hours from 7:30 am to 3:00 am, and requests taken outside these times, you can visit anytime. The best part is, you don’t have to be a guest in order to visit the spa.
The Soft Touch Spa has all of the traditional spa treatments, and some unique ones as well. They offer everything from standard massages and mud therapies, to caviar facials and jet-lag treatments.
Whether you have a long layover and need something to do, or simply want a late-night beauty treatment, the Soft Touch Spa has you covered.

Go on an Abra Ride in Old Dubai

Dubai is known for being on the cutting edge of innovation and luxury, but it has some rich history as well.
Not far from the airport is the Dubai Creek and old Dubai. For just 1 dirham per trip, you can take an Abra across the Dubai Creek. Abras are the traditional boats used throughout the region, and it can be a lot of fun to experience them firsthand. The Abras are available any time of day or night.
Once you get to the other side, it’s easy to spend hours walking around old Dubai and exploring the various souks and admiring the beautiful architecture.

There is a large Lebanese community in Dubai, so naturally there are a lot of Lebanese restaurants. This is great news for any late night snackers, because Lebanese restaurants are often open 24 hours.
One of our favourite 24-hour Lebanese restaurants is Man’oushe Street. They have a couple locations spread throughout Dubai, and so they’re easily accessible no matter where you’re staying. If you don’t feel like leaving your hotel, they deliver as well.
Their menu has a lot of different options to try, but some of the most noteworthy ones are shawarma, manakeesh, bureks, and Lebanese kaak.

The Dubai Glow Garden is considered the largest themed garden in the world, and the theme changes every year so it’s always being updated.

Global Village

Although it is only open for part of the year, Global Village can be one of the best things to do in Dubai at night if it’s operating during your visit. It is open 30 October – 6 April.
Global Village is said to be the world’s largest tourism, leisure, entertainment, and shopping project. It currently consists of 90 markets themed after different countries and regions, along with sections for a carnival, concerts, and dining.
When going to Global Village, expect to spend several hours there if you want to see everything. You could easily be there from open to close and still not see every booth and performance.
For Global Village we highly recommend buying your ticket in advance online. During the peak season, the ticket line waiting times can be 30 minutes – 1 hour.

Late Night Cinema

If you’re looking for things to do in Dubai at night, a solid go-to Dubai night activity is going to a late-night cinema.

There are plenty of movie theatres in Dubai, and many of them offer late night showings. Our favourite is Reel Cinemas inside of the Dubai Mall. It’s always up to date on new movies, and they have really flexible show times. To make things even better, they offer dine in options so you can do dinner and a movie at the same time!

Before going to a late-night cinema, make sure you check show times in advance. You can always roll the dice and just show up, but it’s good to know what’s playing ahead of time.
