Dubai is known for having it all, from beautiful beaches and swanky nightclubs to iconic landmarks and record-breaking experiences.

If you are a true romantic at heart – you can make a date out of anything and any place. However, let’s face it – not all of us have a knack for being creative and romantic at the same time. That’s why the Dubai Travel Advice team went to scout the best places for you and your better half to celebrate that special occasion, or just enjoy an evening together (all with a view of course).

Marina Social by Jason Atherton

We have to admit – this is one that you have to and want to visit more than once. Except for the staff being extremely knowledgeable about the offers and dishes, the menu changes quite frequently. The chefs here are extremely proud of their work and constantly improve current recipes and conjure up new ones. Every time we have gone back, we saw and tried something new on the menu and have never been disappointed.

We strongly suggest going for the “feed me” option. When choosing this, you basically give the head chef complete control over your 4 or 6-course meal, letting him choose your dishes based on the day’s freshest ingredients and highlights of the menu, combine this with a wine pairing and you have the perfect evening without much planning needed. Add on top of these mesmerizing views showcasing the bustling Dubai Marina, and your loved one will surely ask you to take them back here again.

Royal Desert Retreat Fine Dining, Platinum Heritage

This one may be a bit off the beaten track, but completely worth it and unique! The award-winning tourism company recently introduced a luxurious six-course fine dining desert experience to their list of must-dos. Before the start of the evening, a member of their team contacted us to make note of our meal selection and special requests. The menu is carefully curated to cater for all types of lovers – meat, seafood and vegetarian. Upon request, they can also provide vegan dishes.

Once we arrived at the desert, we were escorted to gently lit cabanas surrounding a mesmerizing lake. After filling up on sparkling date juice and our selection of delectable dishes (we seriously suggest the Japanese Beef Tataki and the Chicken with Honey Mustard) we headed over to a lounging area, called a majlis. Here we were treated to shisha and awe-inspiring entertainment that included an acrobatic and fire show.

The cool night breeze ensured a comfortable experience despite us going in the summer.

Ce La Vi, Address Sky View

If you want to over-indulge and splurge a bit more for that special occasion – Ce La Vi is definitely the place for that! The breathtaking views speak for themselves, what we didn’t expect were the beyond generous food portions and delicious shisha. We mentioned that it is a special and romantic occasion during booking, and we were given the royal treatment. We did book a semi-private room and had to request for the music to be switched down a bit.

Other than that, there is a little secret spot where you get to take perfect pictures to post on your socials and the staff members are beyond delightful.

Fish, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort

Their motto is “Where our family and your family feel at home”, and we truly do feel at home when we visit Fish Beach Taverna in the ever-popular Mina Seyahi. Their cuisine is inspired by Turkey and Greece. From the minute we stepped foot in this blue and white haven, it felt like we were stepping into a swanky restaurant in the Greek islands, and who wouldn’t want that to be their home? If Greek Islands don’t scream romance, the sunset views surely do!

Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and were offered drinks, after which we were taken to the fish bar, with a big selection of fresh fish to choose from to grill. We chose the chargrilled octopus and ended the night with very traditional baklava. As the evening was unwinding, we were treated to some fragrant Turkish coffee. We even heard some rumours of a successful proposal or two in the past? Talk about love!

Palm Avenue, Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah

The only thing we didn’t like about Palm Avenue is that we had to choose whether we want to sit next to the pool or the beach – both are breathtaking! This is the perfect day-t (day-date), chilling next to the pool, beach or in a cabana with Korean BBQ sizzling on the grill. They also cater for all palettes as they have a good variety of international food as well.

When we told the concierge at the hotel that this will be a special occasion, they pulled out ALL the stops, and we mean all of them – including our own red carpet leading to our beautifully set up table. This is a definite must-visit if you like your own privacy, but still want to feel part of the crowd.

Souk Madinat Jumeirah

This one is for those spur-of-the-moment, undecisive couples! Souk Madinat is very famous for the old historic feeling of the buildings, the dhows and the wide variety of restaurants. We at Dubai Travel Advice feel that Souk Madinat does not get enough credit for what it is – a haven for foodies and explorers. This is my type of perfect date – browse around some tacky, yet interesting “souk” stands and enjoy conversing with the salespeople. After a hard hour of shopping, settle down in a quaint restaurant overlooking Burj Al Arab or the waters of Souk Madinat. After a romantic meal, step onto one of the dhows and just enjoy cruising the waterways.

Whether you want to spend a quick hour or half a day there – the adventure does not have to stop here. With the beach, Wild Wadi and Mall of the Emirates all so close by, this is the perfect opportunity to prolong the unique date that doesn’t require a lot of planning.

23 Rooftop Bar, Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City

Another less-known restaurant… Another rooftop bar… But definitely none other like this in the whole of Dubai. This is the perfect option if you want to spoil your significant other without the need for extreme formalities. We added this one on the list for the more laid-back couples who enjoy a couple of drinks and sharing plates over stunning views.

What makes this rooftop bar so unique must be the unspoiled view of the Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest man-made island. The space is quite intimate and as soon we entered, we immediately noticed it’s quite popular for couples. The cocktails are definitely enjoyable.
